The Abbey of Vaux-de-Cernay is an ancient Cistercian monastery of the XII century in France a few kilometers from Paris.
The Cernay scented candle is hand engraved by artisans in our workshops, with graphic lines from the great tradition of glass engraving. The glass is first painted dark red by hand, preserving its transparency. This transparency is essential, because the craftsman must be able to see through the lines he is about to engrave.
The red glass evokes a floral fragrance identity with soft sweet accents. The head note is an intense, soft and enveloping berry that takes you on an imaginary walk through the rugged ruins of Cistercian abbeys. Then a fresh and green jasmine explodes as a heart note to gently disappear into a base note of tonka bean for a woody and warm fragrance trail.
