After the legendary start of The Avengers, Stan Lee and Don Heck continued their creative collaboration from 1965 to 1967. These "Kooky Quartet" years marked a time of great changes and unforgettable adventures. Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Captain America took on such foes as Kang, Doctor Doom and the Enchantress, while Hercules and Black Widow appeared as guest stars.
With TASCHEN's Marvel Comics Library: Avengers Vol. 2 (1965-1967), issues 21-40 are bundled in their entirety in a monumental XXL Collector's Edition. The comics have been carefully photographed from copies in the collection of Guinness World Record holder Bob Bretall and digitally restored to retain the authentic feel of the original issues. A specially developed paper imitates classic newsprint, combined with TASCHEN's luxurious presentation.
An essay by Black Panther writer Christopher Priest, complemented by rare drawings, photographs and memorabilia, deepens the historical context of these landmark years. Executed with aluminum cover, leather spine, foil print and slipcase. Limited to 1,000 copies worldwide.
